This
Grade Two* listed building, which stands in the middle of Braintree Golf
Course, was acquired by the RMBI in 1996 with the aim to open it as a modern,
superbly equipped residential and nursing home in 1998.
This
aim has been achieved with the first residents taking up their places in
September 1998.
This
refurbished house has excellent facilities and professional staff for the
care and comfort of all.
The
home has aspecialist unit catering for the elderly mentally frail.
There
is an excellent library, stocked with talking book tapes and large print
and ordinary books for the use of all.
Being
in the middle of a golf course means that many of the bedrooms and common
rooms have wonderful views.
The
quaint village of Stisted is a slow walk of 20 minutes from the entrance,
with the town of Braintree approximately 3 miles away, with trains to London
and very good shopping facilities.
The
Secretary of the Friends of Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court will be pleased
to hear from Almoners, Charity Stewards or individuals wishing to make
an appointment which is convenient to you, our Home Manager and obviously
our residents.
Alternatively
you can take a tour of the home during one of our coffee mornings. These
are held on the second Sunday of each month and an appointment is not necessary.
Should
you wish to bring a group to visit the home a call would be appreciated.

Secretary
